THE EFFECTIVE TEACHER

This workshop will emphasize the three "R"s of an effective teacher, i.e., Relationship Building, Readiness, and being a Role Model. Basic skills of coummunication, Bible study, designing lesson aims, and choosing "optional activities" will be presented and practiced.

CREATIVE TEACHING METHODS

Besides demonstrations of creative teaching methods, this workshop will focus on the process and development of a creative teacher. The "How To" portion of the workshop will discuss use of techniques such as telling a story, role play, puppetry, drama, discussion, game, assignment and project.

DISCIPLINE IN THE CLASSROOM

This workshop will help you understand the basis for developing a plan for discipline as well as giving you the reasons for positive and negative discipline. You will leave with a blueprint for classroom discipline that can be adapted to your individual class.

LEADING A CHILD TO CHRIST

This workshop will discuss the spiritual needs of children, effective tools of presenting the gospel, and follow-up meetings. Tools will include demonstrations such as "Power In the Blood", "Dime in Water", "the Gospel Hand", "Wordless Book", and craft ideas.

TEACHING CHILDREN TO PRAY

Christianity is not just a religion. It is a relatioship. A child can learn to relate to God in a personal way through prayer. Songs and activities to enhance this process of learning will be presented along with a discussion of stages of mental and spiritual development.

GOOD NEWS BALLOONS

This workshop teaches basic balloon art and uses balloon sculpting techniques to present the Gospel. Participants will learn to make balloon snake, hearts, crosses, swords, crowns, and flowers to share God's love for sinners and our need for redemption.

BUILDING SELF-ESTEEM

Discover the ingredients and development of self-esteem. You will learn practical ways of nurturing a child's self-esteem by cultivating self-acceptance, responsibility, assertiveness, personal integrity, and a purposeful living according to God's design.

RAISING GODLY CHILDREN

Participants will be motivated to consider themselves role models of the faith and as Christian Educators. They will learn to answer questions such as "Who am I?", "Where did I come from?", "Why am I here?". They will be challenged to demonstrate unconditional love through affirmations, appreciative praises, discipline, and to develop a mission beyond the home.

COMMUNICATING POSITIVELY

A number of important elements for building positive relationships will be discussed. Participants will learn how to forgive and remember differently, to express appreciation, to design memorable moments, to practice expressing affection, to listen for ways of resolving conflicts, and more.

PREVENTING BURNOUT

What is burnout? What personalities are more prone to burnout? What are the warning signs of burnout? The workshop will answer these questions and help you develop a recovery plan that includes physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects.

BENEFITING FROM ANGER

All of us experience anger at one point of another. However, our responses to anger vary greatly. This workshop will discuss a few common anger styles and offer practical ideas for anger management through relaxation techniques, deepening self-understanding, improving self-esteem, thought restructing, assertiveness, and more.
